MANS submitted 19 criminal complaints to the Special Prosecutor
From the opening of the polling stations till 10.00, more than 100 citizens contacted MANS Hotline. Almost half of the citizens reported suspicions of criminal offences against electoral rights, while the others asked for information on the polling station where they can exercise their voting right.
Based on the collected data and statements of whitnesses, we submitted 19 criminal complaints to the Special Prosecutor. Most of them refer to the criminal offence from Article 186 – violation of the freedom of expressing free will when voting.
Criminal complaints have been submitted against (1) nine persons for suspicion that they are buying identity cards, (2) four persons on the basis of the suspicion that they were giving money or other benefits to voters in exchange of their votes, and (3) six persons who are suspected to have exerted pressure on voters. Nine of these cases have been identified in Podgorice, three in Bar, two in Mojkovac and one each in Berane, Kolašin, Kotor, Petnjica and Cetinje.
We expect the Special Prosecutor’s Office to act urgently in these cases and prevent further commission of criminal offences against electoral rights.
